Prepare Young People for What's Next
From one-off workshops to long-term partnerships, we create immersive learning experiences that prepare young people to navigate uncertainty, recognise opportunities and shape the future with confidence.
OUR STORY
Imagine one of your students looking back ten years from now...
"That was where I learned to see possibilities differently."
After more than a decade teaching entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership, one question became impossible to ignore.
How can standardised learning prepare every young person for a future that will be uniquely their own?
In 2024, Dr Nasiru Taura stepped beyond academia to build what he believed education was missing. Not another programme. Not another workshop. But a different way of learning—one that develops entrepreneurial thinking long before young people choose a career or start a business.
Drawing on experience across universities, executive education, accelerators and Oxford and Cambridge summer programmes, BBYL was created to help young people recognise opportunities, adapt with confidence and intentionally shape futures as unique as they are.
THE BELIEF BEHIND BBYL
Entrepreneurship is not simply about starting businesses.
It is the lifelong ability to recognise possibilities before they become obvious, create value where others see constraints, and shape the future rather than simply inherit it.
Who Is This For?
We work with education and youth-focused organisations that want learners to recognise opportunities, think independently and shape what comes next with confidence.
Designed Around Your Learners
We begin with the people in the room, the change you want to create and the context in which learning needs to come alive.
What Remains
Every BBYL experience is intentionally designed to leave something behind—greater confidence, entrepreneurial thinking and the belief that young people can actively shape their future, not simply prepare for it.
01 · Believe
Students learn to trust their ideas, contribute with confidence and move from waiting for the right answer to creating possibilities of their own.
From hesitation to purposeful participation.
02 · Notice
Students learn to look beyond the obvious, connect ideas and recognise opportunities hidden within everyday problems, changing circumstances and unmet needs.
From seeing obstacles to discovering possibilities.
03 · Shape
Students develop the adaptability, agency and forward-looking mindset to navigate uncertainty, make intentional choices and shape what comes next.
From preparing for the future to participating in its creation.
We designed and delivered an engaging, practical, and transformative foresight masterclass for the first European African Acceleration Programme for startups in Greentech, Health-tech, Agri-tech, and Beauty-tech at UM6P France.
Delivered in collaboration with UM6P Africa Business School and Schoolab, the session formed part of the two-day kickoff bootcamp in Paris and supported startups including AgroSfer, Fresh Afrika, NeuralTeks, Beauté INÉE, and GreenAL-Energy.
The experience helped participants rethink their future impact, clarify strategic direction, and explore how foresight tools could support stronger long-term growth decisions.
We designed and delivered immersive entrepreneurial foresight experiences for ventures, professionals, and future managers through the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Excellence at Africa Business School, Morocco.
Using practical tools grounded in foresight, systems thinking, collaborative ecosystems, and design methodologies, participants explored how to navigate uncertainty, rethink opportunities, and build more resilient entrepreneurial pathways.
The sessions supported stronger strategic thinking, long-term orientation, and entrepreneurial readiness across a diverse group of emerging African innovators and leaders.
The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), the apex continental organisation supporting agricultural research and innovation across Africa, engaged us to help synthesise and structure more than a decade of strategic foresight dialogues and collaborative learning.
Working across complex multi-stakeholder environments, we contributed to the development of an organising framework that later supported the successful launch of the Africa Foresight Academy — a first-of-its-kind continental platform focused on futures thinking, strategic readiness, and innovation capacity building.
Today, the Academy continues to support foresight-driven thinking, systems leadership, and long-term strategic planning across African innovation ecosystems.
We designed and facilitated the Managers Accelerator Programme (MAP) for JESA in collaboration with UM6P Executive Education — supporting more than 400 mid-level managers across multiple cohorts and over 100 senior executives through immersive leadership and innovation experiences.
The programme focused on helping managers rethink how high-performing innovative teams are designed, developed, and sustained within rapidly changing organisational environments.
Through practical simulations, entrepreneurial thinking, systems design, collaborative intelligence, foresight methods, and experiential workshops, participants explored how to lead with greater adaptability, ownership, innovation, and long-term strategic awareness.
Rather than traditional management training, the experience helped leaders strengthen the human systems behind performance — including culture, behavioural alignment, resilience, collaboration, innovation readiness, and future-oriented decision-making.
The programme now stands as part of a growing portfolio of executive transition and innovation experiences designed for organisations seeking to build stronger internal leadership ecosystems across Africa and beyond.
We believe deeply in the value of this experience.
If within the first 30 days you genuinely feel the programme is not the right fit, simply let us know and your investment will be refunded.
No pressure. No unnecessary complexity. Just honest partnership.
People Behind The Journey
For more than a decade, Dr Nasiru Taura has worked across higher education, executive development, entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems—designing learning experiences that challenge how people think, collaborate and create opportunities.
His career has taken him from the Nigerian polytechnic system to academia in the United Kingdom, alongside consulting and executive education projects across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Throughout that journey, one question kept emerging:
Why are we preparing young people for yesterday's world when the future demands something entirely different?
That question became the foundation of Build Before You Leap™ (BBYL)—a learning philosophy that combines entrepreneurial thinking, experiential learning and future readiness to help young people build confidence, recognise opportunities and navigate uncertainty with purpose.
Today, his work has supported startup founders, schools, universities, innovation hubs, international organisations, more than 400 managers and over 100 senior executives through immersive learning experiences designed to create lasting change—not just memorable events.
Every BBYL experience reflects the same belief: the most meaningful learning happens when young people are invited to think differently, create confidently and actively shape the future they want to live in.
Dr Lennox Henry is an accomplished entrepreneur and business growth advisor with more than 25 years of experience helping organisations grow, innovate and create sustainable value across multiple sectors.
As the founder of successful businesses, he brings first-hand insight into the realities of entrepreneurship—from turning ideas into sustainable ventures to navigating uncertainty and making strategic decisions that create lasting impact.
Within BBYL, Dr Henry helps bridge the gap between education and enterprise by ensuring every learning experience is grounded in authentic business practice, commercial awareness and practical entrepreneurial thinking.
Through mentoring, immersive challenges and real-world business insight, he helps young people understand how creativity, resilience and opportunity thinking come together beyond the classroom.
His contribution reflects one of BBYL's core beliefs: the most powerful learning happens when educational experiences are shaped by people who have built, led and learned through real entrepreneurial journeys.
